Shipbuilders,Â
Every day, our customers trust us to build ships that will protect our nation for decades to come. That trust is earned not only through the quality of our work, but through the decisions we make and the way we treat one another every day.Â
As we recognize Ethics & Compliance Awareness Month, I encourage each of us to reflect on what it means to put our values into action. Integrity, safety, respect, engagement, responsibility and performance aren’t just words—they’re the foundation of how we build ships, solve problems and work together as one team.Â
Ethics is more than following policies. It’s doing the right thing when no one is watching. It’s treating others with respect. It’s documenting work accurately. It’s protecting sensitive information. It’s honoring commitments. And it’s having the courage to speak up.Â
For our leaders, the responsibility is even greater. Set the example. Listen when concerns are raised. Take action when something isn’t right. The culture we create is shaped by what we choose to do every day.Â
Throughout August, you’ll have opportunities to participate in Ethics & Compliance Awareness Month activities, learn more about the resources available to you and recognize fellow shipbuilders who demonstrate our values through their actions.Â
Thank you for the integrity, professionalism and respect you bring to work each day. Thank you for doing what is right for the warfighter.Â
