Food security – knowing where your next meal comes from – should not be a luxury.
Join us to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of families in South Mississippi by participating in the annual March of the Mayors event. Throughout the month of February, each city along the Coast will be collecting a specific food item. Each item will be combined to create a box of healthy food options for families in our community.
How can you help?
Donating Items
Moss Point and Pascagoula are in charge of collecting packaged tuna and fruit. For the entire month of February, shipbuilders who feel inspired to donate these items can drop off goods at the following locations:
EDC lobby
Cafeteria – Outside of Gate 2
Admin 2 lobby
LBTF (Coast Guard side)
Multipurpose Warehouse (shipping side)
Wet Dock (second floor under the clock-in station)
CSA III lobby
HR lobby
MTA lobby
East Bank – Shipfitting Training Center Office
Packing Day
On Friday, March 8, shipbuilders can volunteer at the Orange Grove/Lyman Community Center, located at 13472 Hwy 49 in Gulfport, to pack boxes of food utilizing all of the donations collected in February.
