Engagement is a key ingredient to the success of Ingalls. It serves as a voice of support and a token of appreciation for shipbuilders. Both things were highlighted in November at the inaugural Shipbuilder Engagement Day event.
Created by the Shipbuilder Engagement team, this all-day event was centered around showing gratitude for shipbuilders, while also highlighting engagement efforts throughout the year through programs like Culture Connectors, Ingalls Champions, employee resource groups (ERGs) and more.
In addition to breakfast, lunch and snacks, shipbuilders had information available to them about engagement initiatives. During lunch, Ingalls President Kari Wilkinson thanked shipbuilders for their hard work and dedication. The first-ever Ingalls Champion of the Year Award was also presented to Damaris Casiano, sheetmetal mechanic. Damaris was recognized, along with nine other nominees, for their volunteer efforts at numerous events Ingalls supported and hosted this year.
