At Ingalls, we are committed to fostering strong connections with all of our shipbuilders. As we continue to improve the shipbuilder experience, I am pleased to announce a strategic addition to the Human Resources & Administration (HR&A) team.
Wes Garrett has joined our leadership team as the director of Labor Strategy. In this new role, Wes will be responsible for developing and implementing the labor strategy while partnering with Carlos Lett, director of Labor Relations, and the Labor Relations representatives. His addition will allow HR&A to provide even greater support and focus to our represented shipbuilder population and to our union partners.
Wes relocated from Charlotte, North Carolina, bringing more than 22 years of relevant knowledge and experience in labor and employee relations with him. His most recent position was as the director of Labor and Employee Relations for Johnson Controls, Inc. Prior to that, he served as the senior director of Labor Relations and Employee Relations with Honeywell Safety and Productivity Solutions. He was also responsible for the creation, implementation and execution of the labor and employee relations strategy for both union and non-union locations, along with providing effective engagement, recognition and training programs. We are excited to now have his expertise at Ingalls.
Wes holds a master’s degree in Industrial Relations from West Virginia University and a bachelor’s degree in Government from West Virginia Wesleyan College.
