Government Customer Recognizes Corey Snyder’s Secure Onboarding Solution
“This man deserves high praise and kudos!” That’s how Lt Col Paul “TRE” Martin III, Defense Innovation Unit’s (DIU) People, Finance, and Management Action Officer, described Corey Snyder’s achievement in an October email to HII program managers. Corey solved a HR onboarding challenge DIU had faced for over two years.
Corey Snyder, experience designer at HII, developed a secure intake form that allows DIU HR to collect critical information from incoming employees, including shipping preferences, emergency contacts, and encrypted Social Security numbers, through a professionally branded, secure email system integrated with DIU’s ServiceNow database.
Martin, who originally envisioned the tool during his time as DIU’s contract Technical Point of Contact, praised Snyder’s “never give up” attitude and “deep technical expertise” in making it a reality.
“The biggest hurdle was connecting our system to the government’s system which required a lot of time and patience. My teammates heard me say “refresh and try again” more times than I can count!” said Snyder. “You only get one chance to make a great first impression and the new HR onboarding system really hits the mark. New DIU employees are now greeted with a warm welcome email, as well as simple, secure and easy-to-use form for filing their information and paperwork. It’s a smoother experience from start to finish and saves everyone involved loads of time,” he said.
DIU’s Chief Information Officer, David Henry, called Corey “a long-time key cog, steadily working in the background to make DIU run more smoothly internally and present more cohesively to the outside world.”
Snyder plays a pivotal role in shaping how the organization engages with mission partners and the public. His work reflects HII’s commitment to “Delivering the Advantage” through secure, mission-aligned solutions.
Corey’s approach reflects two capabilities from our Leadership Capability Framework: taking ownership and putting the customer first. It’s the standard of leadership excellence at Mission Technologies. Learn more about the LCF here.
