Asia Pacific Defence Reporter reported this week that HII recognized five Australian suppliers during the U.S. Navy League’s Sea Air Space Expo.

Michael Lempke, president of the Global Security group in HII’s Mission Technologies division, was one of three HII leaders recognizing Century Engineering, Hofmann Engineering, Levett Engineering, MacTaggart Scott Australia and VEEM Ltd. for their successful participation in HII-led supplier development initiatives.

“I’m proud to say that HII is bringing decades of experience in managing complex supply chains and nuclear stewardship to accelerate the development of Australia’s sovereign industrial capabilities,” Lempke said. “There’s no better way to build sovereign capability for Australia than partnering with high-quality industrial partners as those that are represented behind me.”

Also in attendance were Eric Chewning, HII’s executive vice president of strategy and development; Linda Dawson, deputy director general for industry, science and innovation, Western Australian Government; Cullen Glass, vice president of supply chain management for HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division; Sir Nick Hine, executive director of H&B Defence; and Rear Adm. Ian Murray, Australian Defence attaché.
