Mission Technologies Sponsors 2025 Virginia International Tattoo

Music performance celebrated the 250th birthdays of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps

HII Mission Technologies was a theme sponsor for the 2025 Virginia International Tattoo, an annual performance featuring military bands and other performers from around the world.

This year’s show, which took place April 24-27 in Norfolk, Virginia, celebrated the 250th birthdays of the U.S. Army (June 14), U.S. Navy (Oct. 13) and U.S. Marine Corps (Nov. 10).

The three services were represented in the show by the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band, the U.S. Navy Fleet Forces Band, the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard Drill Team, the U.S. Marine Corps Band, Quantico and the U.S. Marine Corps FAST Company.

The U.S. Coast Guard Band and bands from Australia, Canada, Japan, Norway and the United Kingdom also participated.

More than 25,000 people attended the four public performances, and more than 12,000 students attended two educational matinees.

As a sponsor, HII was able to send 56 employees and their guests to the public performances.

“My family and I really enjoyed the show—especially my wife, who only goes to football games for the halftime marching bands,” said Tim Armstrong, a Navy veteran and military operations analyst at Mission Technologies.

Flag officers in attendance included:

  • Daryl Caudle, commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
  • Gen. David J. Francis, deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command.
  • Vice Adm. Doug Perry, commander, Joint Force Command Norfolk.
  • Rear Adm. Carl A. Lahti, commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic.
  • Gen. Laurence “Scott” Linton, deputy chief of staff, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command.

Elected leaders in attendance included Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, U.S. Rep. Jennifer Kiggans (R-Va.), and U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.).

HII was featured in a program ad and pre-show video.

“It was an outstanding show and a great tribute to our military,” said Dana West, a Navy veteran and procurement manager at Mission Technologies. “The HII video and program ad were very informative in highlighting the company values.”
