Syracuse Team Strengthens Connections at Annual Workforce Run

Syracuse, N.Y., June 9, 2026

Teamwork extended beyond the workplace for employees and interns from HII Mission Technologies’ Syracuse office as they participated in the annual Syracuse Workforce Run. The event continues a longstanding tradition of connection, wellness, and community.

This year, 23 HII participants joined the race, including four engineering interns. It was one of the largest Syracuse turnouts in recent years. The event was coordinated by Brian Guntharp, a Mission Technologies electrical engineer, whose behind‑the‑scenes support helped ensure a smooth day for the team. After the race, employees gathered for a team barbecue hosted by Michael Mrva, a Mission Technologies software engineer.

For the summer interns, all part of the engineering team, the Workforce Run offered a firsthand look at HII culture beyond day‑to‑day work. Here is what they had to say:

“As a new intern, the Syracuse Workforce 5K was a great experience to get to know my coworkers and see the larger Syracuse community come together.”
Thomas Allen.

“It was nice to get active with others from HII, especially with such a delicious meal right after the run.”
Azamat Eshmuratov.

“It was great to see so many colleagues participate. The energy and team spirit made it a memorable experience.”
Gavin Farino.

“I really enjoyed the atmosphere and bonding with my coworkers.”
Connor Ciota.
