Members of Mission Technologies’ Unmanned Systems business group received the Best Paper award at the International MODSIM World Conference, which took place May 20-22 in Norfolk, Virginia.
Ryan Capozzi, Amanda Costa and Ian Friedrichs authored the paper, “Creating Virtual World Environments for Ocean Vehicles.” Capozzi represented the team and presented the paper at the conference, highlighting Unmanned Systems’ use of digital twins to inform design decisions, verify mission operations, train operators and more.
“I am very proud of the team, this recognition is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our engineers,” said Duane Fotheringham, president of Mission Technologies’ Unmanned Systems business group. “Their work not only pushes the boundaries of what is possible in modeling and simulation, it also demonstrates the profound impact of digital engineering on the future of unmanned systems.”
Matthew Guenther, a naval architect in Unmanned Systems, also attended the conference.
