Andy Green highlights division’s success in leadership townhall
Mission Technologies President Andy Green hosted a leadership townhall on Aug. 13, adding context to HII’s second quarter financial results, which were announced two weeks earlier.
“Q2 was a record quarter,” he said. “$88 million above plan in revenue and nearly $800 million total, with operating income and EBITDA each $9 million above target.”
Green noted that “we beat our plan and guidance” for 10 quarters in a row.
“We did it as a division,” he said. “We beat 10 quarters in a row. It’s because of the people on this call, and I thank you for all the hard work and professionalism. You all are doing fantastic. Thank you.”
The townhall also included a preview of Mission Technologies’ Leadership Capability Framework, which has since been rolled out to all employees. The LCF is built around three core pillars that will make the division successful:
- People: Know and grow your people. Build relationships.
- Execution: Own your business, your program, your outcomes. Put the customer first.
- Growth: Shape the future. Encourage experimentation. Move fast and work with the right kind of speed.
“This Leadership Capability Framework isn’t a top-down memo,” Green said. “It’s a collection of all your best ideas and practices rolled into one. I think it’s going to be phenomenal for our leadership development.”
Melanie Anderson, senior vice president of human capital, added: “Familiarize yourself with it. Think about how you can begin to incorporate it and give exposure to your team so we can really make it a living framework for us.”
