Integrated Communications & Stakeholder Engagement team wins big at 2024 AAF Awards

ICSE Team AAF Awards

Congratulations to the Integrated Communications & Stakeholder Engagement (IC&SE) team for winning several prestigious American Advertising Federation (AAF) awards. 

In addition to the notable awards the team won for their work on “Their Mission. Our Purpose.” campaign, the overall Creative Director of the Year award was presented to Erinn Carty, manager, Branding & Art Production. 

In all, the IC&SE team brought home two Gold ADDY’s, one Silver ADDY, and were awarded an overall achievement award for Best Film, Video & Sound. 

 

Here is a breakdown of the awards presented at the 2024 AAF awards:

  • Integrated Branded Content Campaign – Gold ADDY – “Their Mission. Our Purpose.” – Overall campaign
  • Single Spot (60 seconds or more) – Gold ADDY – “Their Mission. Our Purpose.” – “Day in the Life of a Shipbuilder” video
  • Local Television Commercial (60 seconds or more) – Silver ADDY – “Their Mission. Our Purpose” – “Do You Have What It Takes” video
  • Best of Film, Video & Sound – “Their Mission. Our Purpose.” – “Day in the Life of a Shipbuilder” video
  • Creative Director of the YearErinn Carty, manager, Branding & Art Production 

“Their Mission, Our Purpose.” is Ingalls’ battle cry message aimed at connecting shipbuilders to the “why” behind what we do. This inspiring anthem demonstrates how vital Ingalls shipbuilders are to our nation’s defense and showcases the pride we each have in the world-class ships we build. 

 

The overall goal of this initiative is to inspire shipbuilders to build ships as if a loved one may one day sail on them because they may. Additionally, this campaign helps connect our Mission and Purpose to our communities, partners and stakeholders.

The AAF is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 25,000 entries every year in local AAF Ad Club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.

Selection of the most creative entry in each category is affected by a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluates all creative dimensions of every entry. A Gold ADDY is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the category. Entries that are also considered outstanding and worthy of recognition receive a Silver ADDY.
