“Push To Be More Tech-Driven”

HII climbing Washington Technology’s annual rankings

HII is ranked 23rd on Washington Technology’s annual Top 100.

Given the criteria—”federal spending on IT, systems integration, telecommunications, professional services and other high-tech needs”—the ranking is based primarily on work done by HII’s Mission Technologies division.

In an accompanying article titled, “How HII accelerated its push to be more tech-driven,” Washington Technology reported that HII “cracked the list in 2018 at slot No. 71” and spiked to No. 24 in 2022, following the acquisition of Alion Science & Technology.

Citing an interview with Mission Technologies President Andy Green, the story noted that “cybersecurity, electronic warfare, training, unmanned and autonomous systems, and the ‘C5ISR’ information dominance concept” as capabilities “where HII focuses much of its tech attention.”

Green also discussed the application of artificial intelligence across HII, the role of the chief technology officer, and the potential for work supporting the AUKUS security partnership. His full interview will be featured in a future episode of Washington Technology’s WT 360 podcast.
