Mission Technologies Leaders Embrace Extreme Ownership

150 Attended Division’s First-Ever Leadership Summit

Mission Technologies hosted its first-ever Leadership Summit on March 7 and 8 in Leesburg, Virginia. More than 150 vice presidents and directors from across the division came together to exchange ideas, discover opportunities and strategically plan the next phase of Mission Technologies’ journey.

“The inaugural Mission Technologies Leadership Summit not only marked a significant chapter in Mission Technologies’ history, but also symbolizes the remarkable growth and maturity of our division,” Mission Technologies President Andy Green said.

Day 1 featured keynote speaker Leif Babin, co-author of “Extreme Ownership” and president of Echelon Front, and his associate Sean Glass. Together, they shared how their military SEAL training and “laws of combat” transform and inspire business leaders. Following Babin and Glass, Green presented HII’s Strategy and Mission Technologies Strategy; Ashutosh Gokhale, chief financial officer, discussed Mission Technologies’ financial stability; and Michael Lempke, president of the Nuclear and Environmental Services business group, presented HII’s business strategy for success in Australia.

On Day 2, HII President and CEO Chris Kastner spoke about growth and business opportunities that are shaping our future, followed by the business group presidents sharing their capabilities, pipelines and growth markets for 2024 and beyond. Chief Growth Officer Ahmed Ayad brought it all together, explaining what it takes to build a successful strategic growth plan.

“This 2024 Mission Technologies Leadership Summit has been amazing,” said Kaitlyn Cumber, a director on the Contracts team. “It gets you excited about what’s to come, the growth of the company, the opportunities that we have and the ways that we can all work together.”
