Mission Technologies’ Procurement team is implementing four new supply chain tools to enhance efficiency, security and cost-effectiveness. The tools—Graphite Connect, VROOZi, Interos and Virtru—will be rolled out in the first half of 2025 and will impact various functions by transforming how suppliers are requested and monitored, how catalog purchases are made, and how information is shared.
“As we continue to grow and innovate at Mission Technologies, these new supply chain tools will play a crucial role in our success,” said Rich Fisne, senior vice president of Contracts, Procurement, Pricing and Compliance. “They will enable Mission Technologies to mature and grow the capabilities of our supply chain organization to benefit the business.”
Summary of Tools:
Initiative | Target Function Groups |
Graphite Connect | Supply Chain, Accounts Payable, Requestors in Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Managers |
VROOZi | Supply Chain, Requestors in Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance |
Interos | Supply Chain, Business Development, Program & Risk Managers, Proposal/Capture Leads |
Virtru | Supply Chain, Program Managers, Engineering, Proposal/Capture Leads |
Graphite Connect facilitates the integration of new suppliers into our ecosystem by performing due diligence and ensuring certification and performance, much like onboarding new employees. This software features fraud protection and a closed-loop due diligence process that will also be used to collect and protect active suppliers.
VROOZi facilitates requests for items through major web catalogs (e.g., Amazon, Grainger, Digi-Key, etc.) instead of using P-cards or manual Deltek Costpoint requisitions for purchases under $10,000. A portal will be created where users can generate automated requisitions, streamlining approvals, receipt, and tracking of direct and indirect materials, which will then be tracked and managed in our Deltek Costpoint. This will reduce P-card spend, control procurement processes, and allow users to benefit from free shipping and discounts through planned agreements and receive automated shipping notifications. Additionally, the tool will guide users to the appropriate channels when Mission Technologies has negotiated discounts.
Interos assesses the risk involved when selecting a supplier for teaming or a major subcontract, including understanding beneficial ownership and potential N-Tier relationships. The Interos platform is a leading information service for providing supply chain risk management tools such as geofenced notifications of catastrophic weather and other adverse events that may affect our supply chain.
Virtru facilitates sharing large files with suppliers that exceed Outlook’s capabilities up to 15GB. For procurements in categories like metal parts, many in the defense industrial base are transitioning to model-based engineering, where CAD files, rather than 2D prints, are shared. Since CAD file sizes often surpass Outlook’s 20MB file size limits and contain covered unclassified information, they need to be encrypted and shared only with authorized recipients. This software handles what Outlook cannot, allowing users to share, encrypt, recall or destroy information with robust safeguards in place to protect sensitive data and prevent mistakes.
All tools will be accessible via external websites as Software as a Service. Access will be granted by invitation or request through ServiceNow, and users will log in with single sign-on via Okta, eliminating the need for a separate password.
“As we continue to enhance our supply chain operations with these new tools, we are confident in achieving greater efficiency and security,” said Shaun McGraw, procurement manager. “Our team is committed to leveraging these advancements to drive Mission Technologies forward.”
