Air & Space Forces Magazine recently reported that the U.S. Air Force’s Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) will reach initial operational capability in 2025 at Nellis Air Force Base, with full integration expected by 2028.
Developed through a collaboration between the Air Force, U.S. Navy and HII, JSE will enable advanced training for fifth-generation platforms. HII supports the Air Force at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center (JITTC-N) with capability studies, platform integration and software development.
The JSE’s high-fidelity simulations address scalability, complexity and security issues, providing a modular, reconfigurable environment for training across multiple platforms and services.
“JSE is intended to provide a standards-based simulation environment that all of the different platforms can use,” said John Bell, chief technology officer for HII Mission Technologies. “It offers a fully synthetic environment, allowing all its users to train together today the same way they’ll fight together tomorrow.”
