“I went through the 12-week weld training program after two years of welding in high school. My great grandfather was a welder on the Alaska pipeline, and my grandfather welded at the Georgetown Paper Mill. A year ago, I wasn’t even dreaming of the aircraft carrier components I’d be working on here. In the future, I’d like to expand my mechanized certifications and my horizons into welds that are more substantial, such as the flight deck welds.”
