The Hampton Roads Heart Walk featured survivors, individuals, teams and organizations who united to promote healthy hearts and save lives. HII and Newport News Shipbuilding together fielded 41 teams with 565 registered walkers, raising $43,026 for the American Heart Association.
Heart walker and team coach Chrysany Collier (E81) has a personal connection to the event.
“Heart disease has deeply affected my family, but it became even more personal this year with the birth of my son, who was diagnosed with a ventricular septal defect (VSD) after birth,” she said. “By advocating for heart health, I hope to inspire others to join the fight against heart disease and create a healthier future for all.”
All donations will benefit heart research and medical breakthroughs, teach lifesaving CPR and provide more resources for equitable health in our community.
