At HII we have reminders of our mission all around us, and none are more important than the active duty men and women who serve our nation. We work alongside them in our shipyards, on military bases and installations, and in theaters of operation. A full 17% of our workforce are veterans who continue to serve the national defense through their work at HII.

As Americans we all owe veterans respect and appreciation for their service. I’m proud of our initiatives to recruit and hire veterans at HII and these efforts are working. This week HII was honored with the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award for exemplary efforts in recruiting, employing, and retaining our nation’s veterans. Next week you’ll learn about a new partnership in support of veterans and their transition into fulfilling work following their military service.
