Team,
Twenty-five years ago this week, we lost nearly 3,000 Americans on Sept. 11, 2001. Many of you remember exactly where you were that morning. Some of you decided to wear the uniform, build the ships, or commit in your own way to our national defense, because of what happened that day.
Our work exists because the country needs to be defended. That’s not an abstraction — it’s the reason we at HII get up every morning. Today, take a moment to remember those we lost, and to recognize the warfighters, and others who support them, who have spent the last quarter-century answering the call to protect all of us.
