Dear HII Teammates,
As we approach Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their unwavering commitment has shaped our history and preserved our freedom.
This year the holiday carries special meaning, coming just before the 80th anniversary of D-Day. On June 6, 1944, Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France in the largest invasion ever assembled — before or since. D-Day marked the start of Allied operations that ultimately liberated Western Europe, defeated Nazi Germany and helped to protect peace and freedom for future generations, including ours.
We can be proud that HII’s divisions made critical contributions to the war effort, including on that remarkable day. You can learn more about those contributions in the video below.
Our mission at HII means all of us are part of something greater than ourselves. On this Memorial Day, please take time to reflect on the sacrifices of those who came before us. With my appreciation and respect, thank you for your hard work.
Respectfully,
Chris
