Allegations of improper time reporting are one of the issues most frequently reported to the OpenLine – and one of the allegations most frequently substantiated. In 2025, 39 Time Reporting allegations made to the OpenLine resulted in the termination of the employees named as the subject.

It is every employee’s responsibility to accurately charge their time worked on a daily basis. Proper time charging is a critical aspect of contract compliance and a legal and ethical obligation. Failure to accurately report time worked has serious consequences.
