Ingalls Shipbuilding, with leadership from WISE, recently donated to the Backpack Buddy programs of Jackson County. WISE members collected food items in addition to the company’s financial support of the programs in Moss Point, Pascagoula and Gautier. Backpack Buddy programs provide sacks of ready to eat meals and snacks for children over weekends when school meals are unavailable. Providing meals for children in our communities is one way we can help students be healthy and ready to learn. The generosity of our shipbuilders helped stock up these food pantries for the holiday season to ensure no child goes without.
WISE members Twaya Caples, LaSondra Bridges, Melissa Neese, Amy Rowell, Jennifer Horton, Kimberly Nettles, Cecily Dingle, Jacob Plocher and Jaworski Rankin celebrate World Food Day (Oct. 16) by donating and preparing backpacks for Moss Point Schools Backpack Buddies.
