Newport News Shipbuilding’s Diversity & Inclusion Office is hosting the eighth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration Jan. 12 with guest speaker David Horne, vice president of Trades. Events will be held on all three shifts at Bldg. 601 (Old Apprentice School Gym) and are open to all employees by reservation only.

Register for the in-person events on MyNNS. Registration for the livestream also is available on MyNNS.

Volunteer support is also needed for all three shifts for tasks including packing and handing out food; ticket review at the door; directing employees into and out of the building; cleaning up; setting up tables, chairs and trash cans; and seating assistance.

Employee volunteers are also needed to host live stream events in conference rooms for the 11:30 a.m. event. These volunteers would be responsible for reserving the room and streaming the event.

If you are interested in volunteering, sign up for a time slot on MyNNS. Assignments will be discussed closer to the event date.
