By this time you’ve heard about HII’s Digital Defense Modernization program (DDM). It encompasses so many things that are designed for a better user experience, enhanced cyber security, efficiency, and cost savings. One of those projects is the Enterprise Payroll Project. It’s a two-year initiative aimed at bringing together the Ingalls, Mission Technologies, and Newport News payroll systems into a single, streamlined platform. Currently, each division has its own payroll system and processes.

Newport News and Corporate will go live on the new system in the next four to eight months. These employees will no longer receive paper pay statements via U.S. mail and those with access to MyHR will gain self-service access to their pay statements and W-2s.

Ingalls and Mission Technologies will go live in the middle of next year.

Here’s what we’re aiming to achieve:

  1. Standardization: By standardizing processes and configurations across divisions, we’re making sure everyone is on the same page. This will help us deliver services more efficiently and consistently.
  2. Optimized Service: With a unified system, we can optimize service delivery. This means smoother operations and quicker responses to any payroll-related issues or inquiries.
  3. Lower Costs: It isn’t just about convenience — it’s also about saving money. By reducing duplication and streamlining processes, we’re aiming for a lower total cost of ownership in the long run.
  4. Scalable Growth: Lastly, this consolidation isn’t just about the present — it’s about building a foundation for the future. By laying the groundwork for scalable growth, we’re ensuring that our payroll system can adapt and evolve as our company does.

HII and your divisions will share more information with you as we approach completion dates.
