Dear HII Team,
I am pleased to announce that Michael Griffin, who currently serves as enterprise architect within the HII’s CyberIT department, will assume the role of corporate director for Enterprise Technology Services (ETS), reporting to Marc Sosa, vice president and chief information officer for Mission Technologies and ETS, effective May 5, 2025.
Since joining HII in 2019, Michael has played a key role in driving enterprise-wide technology initiatives, leading strategic architecture planning, and modernizing our infrastructure to support current and future business needs. His work as enterprise architect in both Newport News Shipbuilding and the corporate office has consistently reflected a forward-thinking mindset and deep commitment to cross-functional collaboration.
Michael brings more than 20 years of IT leadership experience, including his time as division chief for IT Operations at a joint task force supporting the Department of Defense’s U.S. Northern Command’s contingency response mission. In that role, he led 24/7 operations for critical incident response infrastructure across North America and successfully executed a two-year transformation that improved operational readiness, service delivery, and compliance.
At HII, Michael has been a key part of the team that established enterprise-wide zero trust security architecture, unified multi-division modernization efforts, and helped lay the foundation for scalable solutions like Microsoft 365, Azure, ServiceNow, and more. His leadership has been instrumental in aligning technology strategy with corporate goals, enabling secure collaboration and operational efficiency.
