Dear HII Teammates,
I’m delighted to share that Jason Brown will take on the dual role of chief information security officer (CISO) for HII, and will be maintaining his current role of chief information officer for Ingalls Shipbuilding. This expanded responsibility highlights Jason’s strong leadership and proven track record of driving transformational change across the company.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Steve Cherry, who has been serving as acting CISO. I am grateful for Steve’s hard work and his unwavering dedication during this transition. Steve will resume his leadership in Cyber Operations to ensure our strong cyber risk posture and keep our business secure. Steve will report directly to Jason Brown.
Jason has held positions of increasing responsibility during his more than 25 years of experience with HII, including vice president and CIO at Ingalls IT, director of Ingalls IT, and leadership positions in business management. He is also leading major technology and security initiatives — from modernizing IT systems and retiring legacy platforms to advancing our cyber capabilities and securing key strategic wins for Ingalls. At every step, he’s kept cybersecurity front and center.
Please join me in congratulating Jason on this well-deserved expanded role, and in thanking Steve for his leadership. I’m confident that this team will continue building our resiliency and protecting HII in today’s fast-changing environment.
