In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, HII is gearing up for a significant leap forward with its Shared Core Services (SCS). First is the Digital Defense Modernization (DDM), a multi-year project that represents a strategic investment in HII’s future, focusing on modernizing infrastructure, fostering collaboration, and reinforcing cybersecurity measures.
“This is not just an investment in technology; it’s an investment in the connected, secure, and collaborative future of HII,” explains Chris Soong, executive vice president and chief information officer.
A noteworthy change is the introduction of an “@hii.com” email address for all HII employees. The new email addresses will be rolled out in phases beginning with a pilot program at Mission Technologies this spring. In addition, employees will begin to hear about the Enterprise Payroll Project (ECP – Employee Central Payroll), a two-year effort to consolidate the division payroll systems into a single system for more efficiency and clarity.
But that’s just the beginning. The initiative will improve collaboration, email, chat, video conferencing, shared cyber security operations center, an integrated help desk, and more through a comprehensive transformation which encompasses five major initiatives that will shape the future of HII:
- Digital Identity Transformation: HII’s digital identity is undergoing a substantial change, with the website and email addresses under the unified domain of HII.com.
- Enhanced Collaborative Tools: A suite of collaborative tools, including SharePoint and Teams, will be deployed across the corporation, fostering seamless communication and teamwork.
- Improved Cybersecurity Measures: HII is set to elevate its cybersecurity protocols, ensuring a robust defense against evolving threats in today’s digital landscape.
- Enterprise-wide Response to Cyber Incidents: The DDM initiative brings with it an enterprise-wide approach to responding to cyber incidents promptly and effectively.
- Standardization of IT Services: The initiative seeks to standardize IT services across the corporation, streamlining operations and ensuring consistency.
“Excitement is building within HII for the transformative journey that lies ahead, “said Soong. “We’ll communicate updates on progress as we navigate this digital transformation together.”
